Welcome to the PD-MitoQUANT project, Dr Franziska Walter! Franziska joins the research team at the RCSI and is very excited to bring her expertise to the PD-MitoQUANT project. Working together with Dr Orla Watters on Tasks 1.3 and 1.4, Franziska conducts reactive oxygen species and bioenergetic measurements in primary neurons. Congratulations to PD-MitoQUANT PI Prof Ronal Melki of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and co-authors M Landureau, V Redeker, T Bellande, and S Eyquem. Their open-access paper, The differential solvent exposure of N-terminal residues provides ‘fingerprints’ of alpha-synuclein fibrillar polymorphs was accepted for publication in the Journal of Biological Chemistry on April 28th, 2021.
